Some wonderful ads from the world of the railways, and some other transport-system adverts included for good measure. From the luxury end of the railway system - the trans-continentals and the Orient Expresses of the 1920s and 30s - to the commuter market, with its urban undergrounds and mass-transit systems, all are represented in this collection of vintage adverts, dating from the 1890s to the late 1960s, and from Britain’s big four nationalised operators to the North American monsters of Amtrac and the Canadian Pacific Railroad. The rapid global spread of rail is seen in these beautiful hand-drawn posters from the age of steam.
